Apple is an American multinational technology company which is headquartered in Cupertino, California. It designs, develops, and sells consumer electronics, computer software, and online services. It is considered one of the Big Tech technology companies, alongside Amazon, Google, Microsoft, and Facebook. It produces hardware products such as the iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, iPod, apple watch, etc. Its’s software includes macOS, iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, and tvOS operating systems. It also provides applications and various online services such as safari, iTunes, apple pay, apple wallet, Appstore, etc.

Apple was founded by Steve Jobs and Ronald Wayne in April 1976 to manufacture and lunch Wozniak’s Apple I personal computer. It was reintroduced as Apple Computer, Inc., in January 1977, and sales of its computers, including the Apple II (apple computer), grew quickly. Apple’s worldwide annual revenue totaled $274.5 billion for the fiscal year of 2020. Apple is the world’s largest technology company by revenue and popularity. It is one of the world’s most valuable companies. It is also the world’s third-largest mobile phone manufacturer.

Economic objectives

Apple performs various economic activities to fulfill its economic objectives. Apple maximizes its profit through various economic activities. For the fiscal year 2019, the company’s iPhone business accounted for approximately 54.7% of total sales; the company’s Services segment made up approximately 17.7% of revenue; Mac sales generated 9.8% of total revenue; Wearables, Home and Accessories segment comprised 9.4% of the company’s sales; the iPad accounted for 8.1% of the company’s sales. Its primary percent of profit comes from its hardware products such as the iPhone, iPad, Mac, etc. Apple’s hardware is engineered in California but is assembled in the apple industries of china and shipped throughout the world. The components required for the production of its hardware comes from various countries.

Apples other sources of profit-maximizing comes from its services and Wearables, Home, and Accessories. Engineers under apple develop its services. It includes sales of a range of services, such as iCloud storage services, Apple Music subscriptions, and AppleCare warranties. According to Apple. Apple’s Wearables includes the sales of Home and Accessories segment is made up of devices such as AirPods, Apple Watch, and HomePods.

Social Objectives

Apple is committed to ensuring the highest standards of social responsibility wherever its products are made. Apple insists that Apple’s suppliers provide safe working conditions, treat workers with dignity and respect, and use environmentally responsible manufacturing processes.

Apple seems to be very transparent about its commitment to reduce the environmental impact of its products. This ranges from the non-use of hazardous materials to the calculation of the carbon footprint and less packaging. Also, it aims to design its products to be as energy-efficient and recyclable as possible. This has benefits for the environment and the company.

Apple has also assisted countries with job creation and employment. Apple is one of the biggest job creators in the United States with 2 million employees.

Apple cooperates with government and private entities to follow applicable laws and statutes when requesting customer information and data. Apple continues working for greater transparency and data security protections on behalf of our customers.

Apple Inc also uses some natural materials in their production of electronic devices. Most of these materials such as copper, aluminum, and other metals come from different anonymous Apple suppliers. Apple uses many types of Human Resources too.

Human Objectives

When it comes to human objectives Apple's motto is “Different Together”. At Apple, they include people from all backgrounds. 53% of new hires in the U.S. are from historically underrepresented ( Underrepresented groups include women and people who identify as Black, Hispanic, Native American, or Native Hawaiian & Other Pacific Islander. ) groups in tech. Apple allows veterans to make the most of their skills and abilities. There’s a support network there to help employees be successful. It is a multigenerational company with employees from 18 to 87. Apple supports the development of all its employees throughout its Apple journey. They’ve paid equity in every country they operate. Apple is also dedicated to empowering students and educators at all levels. Apple also provides a discrimination-free community and it supports LGBTQ+ people and believes that LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) rights are human rights.
